It’s Ok To Just Do Your Best

There is definitely something to be said for healthy competition, but I do believe we also need to understand that it’s more than ok to just do your best. There are many people out there that will flare up like a cobra and tell me how ‘if you’re not first, you’re last’. But, this is not intended to disregard healthy competition. At all! This is more about us as individuals and how we can be way too hard on ourselves. And, a little bit about how we should never make people feel small about their efforts. Wink, wink.

A Sense of Knowing

There is something deep within us. We call it Trust, Faith, Knowing or Intuition. It doesn’t matter what we call it, we all have it. This knowing comes from our soul, from the deepest most authentic part of us. It is a voice that struggles to be heard above the thoughts in our heads. It is a way of knowing your purpose and place in this life. But, do we listen to this voice? Do we acknowledge this voice, this knowing?

How to Find Truth, and Love, in the Stillness

Be still, and listen. There is a soft, persistent noise in the stillness. A voice in the silence. This may sound contradictory by any reasonable standards, but I want to talk about how the stillness allows us to open up to our inner voice. The voice that has no vocal cords. The voice that is only heard within us. This voice can be both soft and gentle, and loud and obnoxious at the same time. It is the voice who’s message is more valuable than all the others that we place higher value on.

Finding Comfort in the Highs and Lows

We all know that life comes with highs and lows, but how often do we actually think about the reasons for why that is? How often do we see the value in both the highs and lows? I would like to look at how we can take all the different experiences of our lives and see the value in them. Maybe even find some comfort in them. Instead of always believing that value comes from the highs, let’s look at where we can find value in the lows as well. Better yet, let’s look at where we can find balance between the two.

If Love Is The Answer Why Isn’t It Easier?

If love really is the answer let’s look at why that might be, and why it isn’t always so easy. I mean, beyond the niceties and the sentiment, the ooh’s and ahh’s of love, what makes it ‘the answer’?

We all want to be loved, but do we realize the significance of giving, or being love ourselves? I believe that love is the answer, but that we need to tune in to what that really means and what role we have to play in the sharing of it. If we want living from a place of love to be easier we have to understand our own role in it.

Isn’t it ironic that the subject of self-awareness seems to only enter your frame of reference once you have opened the door to it? It’s a chicken before the egg situation. How can you become self aware without self-awareness? There’s little point asking someone who isn’t self aware what it means to be self aware, lol! Abundance is the latest buzz word, and I mean I get it! We all long for abundance in life. But, what is it about living a life of abundance? I believe it stems from a longing to be free. But, why do we so badly want to be free? And, what does it mean to be free? Is it the same for everyone? Self Talk: A Thank You Letter To Myself

We all go through our internal struggles. Our self-doubt. Questioning everything that we do. Whether we are good enough, pretty enough, brave enough. We are in a constant state of ‘talking ourselves down from a ledge’. Trying, from a place of concern for our own best interest, to keep ourselves ‘safe’. But, we are using the wrong approach altogether. We are using fear tactics instead of positive self talk. It’s become easier to find examples of negative self talk than positive self talk examples. For this reason it is so important that we ask ourselves the question ‘What is Self Talk?’. And, am I using it to empower myself?

Time is Precious: Making the Most of Each Moment

To bring home the point that time is precious, let’s start with this simple exercise. Count the days you’ve been blessed with so far in this life. I have lived 17,183 days on this earth so far, as of today. That’s 47 years and change, for anyone who’s wondering. I’ve been thinking about those 17, 183 days, wondering what I’ve done with them. Have they been productive? Have I lived them to their fullest, from a place of love? Did I recognize that time is precious, or did I live a bit too much of it in a wasteful kind of way?
